Chinook Salmon is the targeted species for the Vancouver Island Salmon Classic. The Chinook Salmon is a species that is also known as a ‘Spring Salmon’ and /or ‘King Salmon’ even the elusive ‘Tyee’. The reputation of this fish is widely known as a prize fish that is an extremely strong and powerful fighter fish that can see weights of up to 70lbs.
